The programme is clinically led by the Bowel Cancer Screener Accreditation panel. Their primary role is to advise on the process of assessing and accrediting screening endoscopists. The panel oversees the quality assurance of the accreditation process to ensure that bowel cancer screening is provided by safe, high-quality endoscopists. The panel meet twice yearly and includes representation from each assessment centre.
The Chair of the panel is Dr Richard Robinson. Richard is a gastroenterologist with particular interests in inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopy, colonoscopy and bowel cancer screening. He is the Director of bowel cancer screening for Leicestershire.
Richard is supported by members of the JAG office team, namely Joe Wilton and Raphael Broughton, who oversee the accreditation process and day to day operations.
